I know that various customers are used to having to supply files to other printers in which they must indicate in black what should come out of the printer as white.
This is actually not the case with me (although it is possible) and I will explain this below.
Why you need to work in black for others:
Several printers for white toner decals use a converted printer where black toner is replaced by white toner. This means that everything that is black in the file is printed as white and that means that with 3 colors they can still print a very dark color towards black, and the other colors. They can only do all this next to white because everything is printed in one and the same passing. To get white under the colors, they must first print white, reinsert the sheet, and then print the color.
With me is white, white and black is black
I use a 5-color laser printer from Oki.
This printer has 5 toners namely cyan, magenta, yellow, black and in addition white, the first four form what in the graphics world is called a cmyk system with the white included this is cmykw or cmyk+w. With my printer, white is printed first, then the sheet is fed back and color is printed directly in the same hall, there is no need to re-register or enter manually, making color on white registration almost perfect. In addition to all this, I can also use black and composite black (composition of black + 3 colors, which results in the blackest black).
Supplying: can black become white?
Officially, I need to be supplied files in white if something needs to be white, in a vector file or a png without a background. However, I have the option to set in the driver that what is black / colored in a file to be printed as white (I know since the beginning of February 2020). With this setting I can only print white and no color, but if you have a file where what has to be printed is in black, I can also print this.
If you have color in addition to the black (which must be white), this will also be white with a degree of coverage equal to how dark the shade is (yellow in the file will barely become opaque white, orange will become approximately 50% cover, dark blue 70%, etc. ), if you want to have these colors printed as colors and on top of or next to white, then you must supply as vector or png where white is white.
I do not know anymore.....
There is so much possibilities that it is somewhat difficult to always explain this in an understandable way. Don't understand anything you have been reading above?
No problem!! Just send me an email with the (sample) file and an explanation of what the intention is and then I will tell you how to make or change the file.
